Dream Build Play 2009

Microsoft has opened registration for this year's Dream Build Play Challenge and a long time goal of Punk Labs (and even before Punk Labs existed) has always been to create console games. Since we are still pretty small time, a console game was far out of reach for us. With the freshness of Community Games on the Xbox 360 our dream might just come true.

Let it be known that we have registered for the Dream Build Play 2009 Challenge and hope very much that we can make the deadline for finished game submissions. The bad news is that we cannot make a beta available for testing among our ever-so-faithful fans. If you happen to have an XNA Premium Creator account, you might see our game up on the Play Test list eventually. So keep an eye out for progress. PolyVector is posting development pictures on his Twitter profile (Note: we do not respond to bug reports, feature requests, or support questions on Twitter).

Converticon 2.0

We've spent a little time reworking our image converting web application known as "Converticon" to be completely in Adobe Flash. This takes the strain off our servers and allows us to expand Converticon's features. Now you can convert JPEGs, GIFs, ICOs, and PNGs to either ICO or PNG images that are very useful for use as dock icons. Enjoy!

Mutate is Signing Off

It is always a sad day when you have to put one of your projects to rest. Today we have decided to go ahead and take Mutate offline. While we really thought we had a good idea we know when to admit defeat. The execution was just not where we wanted it. So with a sad heart we bid Mutate a fond farewell.

Our energy right now is being spent on reworking RocketDock.com so we can give everyone a better experience finding addons for our a little dock. When the new site is up we'll have a list of changes and features.

Punk Labs has Migrated Successfully

When we purchased the new server to run RocketDock.com we wanted to make sure it would also be able to handle all of our current sites and projects as well. We have been running Punk Labs and a few other sites on a second server due to RocketDock.com's growth and resource hogging. Fortunately the new server is powerful enough to handle everything with room to grow. We are very pleased and are happy to say the major site migrations are over. Both Punk Labs and RocketDock.com have made it and all site features should be available.

Migrating RocketDock.com to New Hardware

Today we are going to be moving RocketDock.com (yet again) to a new server. We couldn't be more pleased that RocketDock continues to draw in new users and everyone is sharing and enjoying addons. With this growth we have been experiencing down time that is unacceptable and we have been working really hard in continuing to provide RocketDock for free and keep our users happy with a place to show their newest creations.

in order to migrate RocketDock.com smoothly we will be temporarily disabling a few features on the site that include: new user registration, new download submissions, submission editing, commenting, and profile editing. You will be able to continuing downloading existing submissions and RocketDock itself.

Thank you for your patience!

We Have Revived RocketDock.com

After almost two weeks of dealing with server problems and a complete site tear down we are happy to announce that RocketDock.com is back from the ashes.

The new site has been redone from scratch by PolyVector. Unfortunately because of the server issues we lost about a month's worth of download submissions and users accounts. For the remaining accounts login information has been imported and working. Users should be able to edit their past submissions with ease.

Some new features on RocketDock.com include user RSS feeds for their own submissions. Profiles now have avatar support. And last, files can be reported if broken or submitted without permission.

RocketDock.com Has Suffered an Aneurysm

Ok RocketDock.com has not literally suffered an aneurysm, but it is almost as bad. Turns out this morning our hosting company blocked RocketDock.com's IP from the rest of the world due to spam. What does this mean? We're not exactly sure yet. We do know RocketDock.com is completely offline and we are working furiously to get everything up and running. Trouble is it isn't going to happen overnight. Fear not you can still download RocketDock.

For the time being point your browsers over to our files server to download the latest version of RocketDock. We are hoping to get RocketDock.com up and running within the week so you can enjoy all the awesome icons, themes, and docklets our talented users have submitted.

We'll have an announcement up here on Punk Labs as soon as everything has returned to normal.

Tracker Down

Due to our limited time for development and support we have taken down the bug tracker. If you have ay questions regarding the usage of RocketDock you should be reading through the online help, which is also available in your start menu when RocketDock is installed. We do not have an ETA on when the bug tracker or regular support will resume for our projects. We do appreciate your patience during this time.

As a small note, we will not be providing additional support via email or our blog. Thanks for your understanding.
